Terms of Use – Not In My House
Version 1 – 22 October 2026 · Contact: info@keyholecuriosgames.com
These Terms are between you and KeyHole Curios Games (“we”, “us”).
1. Licence
- We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to play Not In My House (“the Game”) through Steam.
- The Steam Subscriber Agreement also applies. If these Terms and that agreement conflict, these Terms apply to the Game itself.
2. Demo and test versions
- The demo and any test build are free, unfinished, and may change, break, or be withdrawn at any time. Progress may be reset.
- Test builds: a build marked “TEST BUILD” on its main menu records the session for debugging, including player
names, key presses and PC information, as the notice there says.
- Test builds are given only to invited testers who agree to this.
- Public releases never include that recorder.
3. Age
You must be at least 13, or the minimum age for online services in your country if that is higher, to play online.
4. Conduct
- Don’t cheat.
- Don’t exploit bugs to harm others.
- Don’t harass, threaten or impersonate other players.
- Don’t use voice or chat for abuse, hate or illegal content.
We may mute, block or remove players who break these rules.
5. No modding of the online game
Don’t modify, reverse engineer, or interfere with the Game, its files, or its network traffic, except where the law allows it.
6. Privacy
- Analytics, crash reports and bot training are off unless you turn them on. They are anonymous: we don’t collect your name, Steam ID, chat, voice, what you type, your PC name or your IP address.
- See the Privacy Policy: in the Game, under Options > Privacy > PRIVACY POLICY.
- You can change these choices at any time in Options > Privacy.
7. Gameplay data and AI training
If you tick “Help train our bots with anonymous gameplay data”, you agree that we may record anonymous gameplay data from your matches, as the Privacy Policy describes:
- your character’s movement and actions;
- other characters only as role and seat;
- match results.
You also agree that we may use this data to train, test and improve AI-controlled players (bots) for Not In My House and its updates.
- The data is used for no other AI purpose. It isn’t sold, and it isn’t used to train generative AI or to imitate anyone’s voice, likeness, text or play style.
- You may stop at any time by unticking the box in Options > Privacy. That stops future recordings.
- Bots already trained, and anonymous recordings already received, may be kept as the Privacy Policy describes. Recordings are not linked to you, so they can’t be picked out and removed afterwards.
- Gameplay data contains nothing you created that is protected as your own work. To the extent any rights would apply, you give us a free, worldwide, non-exclusive licence to use the data for the purpose above.
8. Feedback
If you send us ideas or feedback, we may use them freely, without paying you or naming you.
9. No warranty, limits
- The Game is provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for lost data.
- Our total liability is no more than the amount you paid us for the Game (zero for the demo).
- Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have under consumer law that can’t be excluded.
10. Changes
- We may update these Terms. The version date shows the latest.
- If a change affects what data the Game collects, the Game asks you again before anything new is sent.
- Otherwise, continuing to play means you accept the change.
11. Law
If you’re a consumer in the EU or UK, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of your country.
